SLACKER!

So the girls have been telling me a lot lately that they knew this blog would be something we started but didn't keep up with. What I need to do is actually take the time to update every time I think about it... you'd be amazed by how often it crosses my mind - but I just get too busy driving the kids around, working, general MOM stuff. ;)

Bill and I took the girls down to Little Sahara over Easter. It is something that Bill and I have been doing for years but we didn't think the girls were old enough to take with us until this year. We had a great time with the 'wheelers, and we had some great campfires! Well, at least one truly GREAT campfire.

But Bill and I wonder now why we choose to go there over Easter.. the weather is almost always freezing cold and wet... this year was no exception! We planned for some rain (DVD movies in the big tent)

but what we didn't plan for was to get caught in a storm, miles away from camp, and have to return to camp as completely drenched MUD MONSTERS! Good thing we were able to laugh as we huddled under the canopy to scrape some of the mud off of us before ducking into our tents for some warm clothes. Although I didn't get any pictures of us covered in mud, I think the pictures of Carley and Bill standing at the fire pit with an UMBRELLA are hilarious!

Only true camping diehards would stand out in the rain with an umbrella to help them enjoy the fire. I think it may be time for them to audition for Survivor!

One final note: I get choked up as I look at the pictures of my "babies" riding away on the 'wheelers by themselves. Just when exactly did those little creatures grow up? I am so lucky to have six great kids!
Babehs "My daughters are so many things- Tiny discoverers of butterfly wings, huggers of teddies, sweet sleepyheads, little ones to dream for in bright years ahead... All Special people who right from the start had a place in our family and of course in my heart. And just when I think that I've learned all the things that my dear daughters are and the joy each one brings, a hug or a grin comes with such sweet surprise that love finds me smiling with tears in my eyes!"
